2008 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin at SEMA

Yet another weapon in the arsenal of cars, trucks, and SUVs Ford is bringing to this year's SEMA show, the 2008 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin adds a visual spark to the base Sport Trac and helps morph the vehicle into a surprisingly effective street cruiser.

From the outside at least, the production Adrenalin is a fairly faithful recreation of the concept version that first hit the stage at the 2005 New York Auto Show. It features the same attractive 10-spoke rims, although the concept wore 21-inch versions as opposed to the 20-inchers found on the production model. The front and rear fascias are 3.5-inches lower than the stock Sport Trac and also very similar to the concept design.

The Sport Trac Adrenalin changes nothing under the hood (it will reportedly available with the same 4.0-liter V-6 or 4.6-liter V-8 as the base Sport Trac) but keeps wandering eyes busy with functional front fender vents, integrated running boards and those aluminum wheels, which come with P255/50R20 Pirelli tires. You'll find no roof racks on the Adrenalin, which comes with a Colorado Red paint scheme that makes the most of the truck's changes. You can also order the truck in black, white, and silver.

All Adrenalins can be ordered with AWD or 2WD, and the same and your choice of cloth or leather inside as well as a healthy sprinkling of Adrenalin logos, which unfortuately for Ford can't hide the dated Charcoal Black interior.

The Sport Trac Adrenalin will start at $30,495, which amounts to roughly a $3,000 Sport Trac trim package (tack on an additional $720 for destination and delivery charges). It will be available in early January for those whose adrenaline is raised by the slick-looking street truck.
