2004 Hot Rod Power Tour Draws to a Close

The annual Hot Rod Power Tour has come to a close, but that doesn't mean the fun is over. Daily journals of the entire trip have been saved at HotRod.com, including Web Editor Doug Glad's tales from the road, as well as plenty of photos and QuickTime videos of the cars and events.

The 2004 Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour, presented by General Motors and co-sponsored by Flowmaster, is an annual trek of everything from classic hot rods to late-model performance vehicles. The event launched in Arlington, Texas on Saturday, June 5, 2004 and concluded in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Friday, June 11, 2004.

This seven-day, seven-city tour brings the enthusiast and the aftermarket together to celebrate their combined passion of all things automotive. More than 200,000 participants and spectators enjoyed this year's motorized traveling extravaganza, which featured project vehicles from General Motors and a range of activities at Tour stops along the way, including manufacturer displays, dyno challenges, product giveaways, and Cruise Nights.

In addition to the approximately 2500 long-haul participants who caravanned along the entire journey in their Rods, each Tour stop drew enormous crowds, capped by the final day's events at Lambeau Field. Traffic in Green Bay was brought to a standstill when the Field and all its surrounding lots were packed completely full by Power Tour participants.
