Besides its prolific sunny weather, Los Angeles is a city also known for its traffic-clogged freeways (Want evidence? See "The Italian Job"!). On the brightest of days, however, map-wise locals avoid the jam, and escape to the lesser-known back roads and canyons for open-air motoring. These snaking roads invite the driver to connect with both machine and nature's hair-tousling, stress-relieving excitement.
Finding the ideal car for such a drive is a difficult choice, however, as the market has a broad variety of offerings, from four-place tourers to little two-seat roadsters, as well as a few desirable cars that sit right smack in the middle.
