2008 Ford F-150 Foose Edition

Chip Foose is a genius. A graduate of Art Center in Pasadena, California, Foose has been turning out drop-dead gorgeous cars ever since he began working with Boyd Coddington in the early 1990s. His designs are always clean and subtle. So clean in fact, often times side-view mirrors don't even make it onto the car. Which is why we're surprised he got involved in a straight-off-the-line series production vehicle.

His latest project is the truck you're looking at: the 2008 Ford F-150 Foose Edition. Yes, it has side-view mirrors, and yet it still manages to retain that minimalist look Foose is famous for. Finished in black with silver racing stripes and sitting on a lowered suspension, the Foose Edition F-150 has a sporty stance - for a truck. Foose had a hand in creating every modification to the vehicle, including the twenty-two-inch chrome wheels and fender flares and the lowered front and side rocker moldings.

The Foose Edition truck doesn't just look good, though. Now that Dodge has discontinued the Ram SRT10, it also happens to be the most powerful truck on the market, with a supercharged version of Ford's 5.4-liter V-8 producing 450 hp and 500 (!) lb-ft of torque. The bigger news here? Ford has officially announced that a truck will soon be re-added to the SVT stable. The Foose's powertrain seems like a perfect starting point for the new Lightning, if you ask us. Look for it at the 2007 New York auto show.
