Spied: 2007 Ford Edge
Nearly a twin to sibling Aviator

Looking nearly identical to its sibling, the Lincoln Aviator, the upcoming Ford Edge will sit between the Explorer and Escape, and aims to target luxury crossovers like the Acura MDX and Lexus RX. Only its rear taillight treatment differentiates it from its future platformmate. Designed as a sport wagon rather than traditional SUV, motivation will be provided by a 3.5-liter/245-horsepower V-6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Production is to begin August 2006 in Oakville, Ontario, on the CD3 platform shared with the Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and Lincoln Zephyr.
