2007 SEMA Show Photos & Coverage Part 1
Photography by Mike Floyd, Kirill Ougarov
The annual end-of-October extravaganza of custom cars and aftermarket parts known as the SEMA Show draws thousands of attendees from all parts of the automotive world -- aftermarket parts purveyors, industry executives, dealers, auto scribes, you name it. More importantly to automotive enthusiasts of all stripes, SEMA is an annual opportunity for engineers, designers and the like to go all out and come up with extreme creations that would otherwise never make it past the accounting office's red pen.
Nowhere else but SEMA would you see LS7-powered Hummers, ethanol-capable Corvettes, fancy Foci, Jeep Wrangler-based pickups and a bevy of other outrageous rides that would look perfectly at home on a rap video or Fast and Furious movie set. In addition to the hundreds of custom machines, Toyota will be unveiling its all-new 2009 Corolla and Matrix in one of the highest profile debuts in the history of the show -- underscoring SEMA's ever growing importance to mainstream automakers. GM will also be unveiling the Chevrolet Cobalt SS Turbocharged at the 2007 event, which takes over for the discontinued Cobalt SS Supercharged.
