Friends R.J. Matthews, Simon Davies, and Scott Burke make their debut One Lap this year. Their entry is a 2008 Subaru WRX STI that relies largely on its factory prowess.
The team's added a TurboXS 3-in. downpipe and a Hayward & Scott SS 3-in. exhaust to aid breathing. A custom ECU tuned by ClarkTurner, in conjunction with a Walbro 255-lph fuel pump and DeutschWorks 850cc injectors, should provide a solid bump in power. Boosting track duties are larger anti-roll bars, Carbotech brake pads, and Rota DPT wheels wrapped in 275/40 Kumho Ecsta XS tires.
And if that doesn't work, there's always Plan B: "Sabotage!" says Matthews, "Anything worth more than six figures is fair game."
