The Ford Fusion is a relatively new Ford release, having appeared for the first time in the 2006 model year. It is a midsize sedan that shares a platform with the Mercury Milan and the Lincoln MKZ, the three of which were launched simultaneously. The Fusion debuted a new, three-bar design for the grille, which is to become the trademark Ford look for the rest of the decade. Sales for the Ford Fusion are promising, with US sales totaling 142,502 in 2006.
