TULSA, Okla., March 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Thrifty Car Sales, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. , is adding three new dealers to its national network of franchised used car dealerships. The new markets include locations in Dixon, Calif.; Mahopac, N.Y.; and San Antonio, Texas.
In Dixon, Calif., dealer Ghasem "Tony" Tousinzhad recently opened a Thrifty Car Sales dealership at 410 Gateway Drive #G. A resident of the area for 27 years, Tousinzhad has owned his own retail and wholesale dealership, Truck City Auto Sales, since 1994, selling more than 600 cars every month. Plans for Thrifty Car Sales include expanding in 2009 to a new stand-alone dealership that will be built on a 2.1 acre site on I-80 East.
In Mahopac, N.Y., partners Tony LoMenzo and Nick Lupinacci have opened a new Thrifty Car Sales dealership at 369 Route 6. LoMenzo has been in the automotive business for 20 years and is currently the owner of LoMenzo's Auto World. His partner, Lupinacci, is a well-known builder and real estate developer of residential and commercial projects. The new Thrifty Car Sales property is about 8,000 square feet and has the capacity to hold approximately 20 vehicles inside the showroom and about 80 vehicles on the outside lot. Their goal is to establish a multi-faceted operation that will include sales, service and car rental.
In San Antonio, Richie Davis, Erik Baerresen, Drake Baerresen and Matt Griffin have opened their first Thrifty Car Sales dealership at 8187 Bandera Road. Davis has been involved in many facets of the automotive world since 1993. Currently, the partners work at Baerresen Group where they manage a team of account executives in 28 states, providing marketing and advertising services to automotive dealerships across the nation. They have successfully increased annual sales for their clients up to 420 percent, which they hope to apply to their own Thrifty Car Sales location. Davis will be responsible for the daily activities at the dealership, which will also include a Thrifty Car Rental operation.
