Vectron International Launches Disciplined Oscillator Module for Wireless Base... - Auto News from September 25, 2007

HUDSON, N.H., Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Vectron International, a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of Frequency Control, Sensor, and Hybrid Product solutions, today announced its new C6300 Disciplined Oscillator (DO) module. Capable of being disciplined to 1 pulse per second (PPS), Vectron's C6300 provides a high-stability frequency source that delivers the accuracy, holdover and stability required to maintain system timing in wireless base stations for WiMax, CDMA2000, UMTS, and GSM/EDGE/GPRS applications. The company is showcasing its new C6300 product along with its entire solutions portfolio for WiMAX applications in Booth 539 at WiMAX World USA 2007, from September 25-27 in Chicago.

"Vectron has more than 50 years experience in designing and manufacturing oven controlled crystal oscillators (OCXOs), which is the core of disciplined oscillator modules like our C6300," said Alan Mond, Vice President of Global Sales, Vectron. "As a result, we are able to create a module that not only saves customers time by incorporating functionality that they traditionally need to engineer themselves, but also offers significant improvements in performance at a competitive price."

Designed with a variety of features and options, the C6300 DO module can easily be customized by Vectron to meet the quickturn needs of a variety of applications. The C6300 provides a holdover of 10uSec for 24 hours, accuracy within 20nSec of reference input signal, free running stability of 0.2ppb over operating temperature range, and <5E-11/day aging. The module's form factor and performance can be customized to optimize stability, physical size and cost for a specific application.

Vectron's C6300 family is manufactured and tested to meet Vectron's stringent quality and reliability standards based on MIL-STD-202, including aging, various shock and vibration, extreme temperatures and temperature cycling.

    Key features include:
-- 10 degrees to +70 degrees Celsius operating temperature
    -- 1pps input standard
    -- 1PPS and 10MHz output signals standard
-- Multitude of oscillator options to meet a variety of holdover
requirements up to and including 10uSec for 24 hours
    -- Serial communications interface standard
-- Product is complaint to RoHS directive and fully compatible with lead
       free assembly

A module test kit for Vectron's new C6300 family is now available that includes everything needed for evaluation, including the evaluation board assembly which has a display and RS232 interface.
