Detroit Auto Dealers Association Announces Officers for 2007 - Auto News from January 26, 2007

TROY, Mich., Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA), one of the nation's largest and most influential dealer organizations, has announced its new slate of officers for 2007. The announcement was made by DADA Executive Vice President Rod Alberts.

Newly elected officers are: Joseph Serra, president; Douglass Fox, vice president; and Barron Meade, treasurer/secretary.

President Joseph Serra -- Serra is president of Grand Blanc, Mich.-based Serra Automotive, which operates dealerships throughout Southeastern and mid- Michigan, including Grand Blanc, Clarkston, Southfield, Farmington Hills, Flint Twp., Saginaw, Lansing, Romeo and Grandville, as well as dealerships in Ohio, Colorado, Tennessee and California. Among the 28 Serra dealership franchises are brands including BMW, Buick, Chevrolet, Chrysler-Jeep, GMC, Honda, Hummer, Hyundai, Mercedes, Pontiac, Porsche, Saturn, Scion, Toyota and Volkswagen.

Vice President Douglass Fox -- Fox is president of Ann Arbor Automotive, which operates Ann Arbor Acura, Hyundai, KiaMitsubishi and Nissan in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Treasurer/Secretary Barron Meade -- Meade is president of Sterling Heights-based Meade Group, which operates Meade Dodge, Inc. of Detroit, Meade Lexus of Lakeside in Utica, and Meade Lexus of Southfield.

Founded in 1907, the DADA represents more than 250 automobile dealers who own 240 dealerships employing nearly 17,000 people in Southeastern Michigan. The DADA supports its members through legislative and industry representation, educational programs, communications and community relations activities. The DADA is also the original organizer of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), now independently presented by Detroit area auto dealers. The NAIAS is one of the top five motor shows in the world, and the only show in North America to receive annual sanctioning from the prestigious Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles, also known as OICA, the Paris- based alliance of automotive trade associations and manufacturers from around the world.
