MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- STAR (Standards for Technology in Automotive Retail), the IT standards body for the North American retail automotive industry, has published 2006v1.0 of its Transport Package, which will help to facilitate interoperability for data exchange with automotive dealerships.
The Transport Package - a set of publications for RSP and OEM software developers and architects to foster interoperable movement of STAR XML BODs. Documents in the package are:
- STAR Transport Guidelines - a high level requirements and
recommendations document
- STAR Web Services Implementation - implementation details for using Web
services specifications
- STAR ebMS Implementation Guidelines - implementation details for using
the ebXML Message Services specification
There were two major modifications made to the Transport Package 2006v1.0. These changes are:
- The addition of executive summaries in the Transport Guidelines. These
overviews are a high level business review of each chapter of the
Transport Guidelines document.
- Reorganization of chapters in all three documents. This change was
implemented to improve navigation and consistency.
