PEIKER's BluetouchMusic(TM) Receives Honorable Mention in Bluetooth SIG Best of CES... - Auto News from January 10, 2007

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Germany's PEIKER acustic GMBH & Co. KG, an automotive electronics maker for top auto brands, announced its groundbreaking BluetouchMusic has received an honorable mention in the Bluetooth SIG Best of CES 2007 contest. The new product is the first automotive aftermarket system to fully integrate hands-free mobile technology with multi-media support, allowing users to play either downloaded or streaming music through their existing car audio system with a user friendly interface.

"BluetouchMusic is one of those innovative products that showcases the many uses of Bluetooth technology in the car," said Michael Foley, Ph.D., executive director, Bluetooth SIG. "It incorporates the traditional hands-free system with the functionality people really want in the car -- the ability to bring their music with them from their favorite music device."

The BluetouchMusic unit, which features a user friendly display, clear touch screen and intuitive menu navigation, gives music lovers the freedom to replay and switch between music downloaded to either their mobile phone using Bluetooth(R) A2DP technology or iPOD(R) or other MP3 player via a hardwire.

"BluetouchMusic is the only system on the market today that allows music downloads from mobile phones to be played via Bluetooth A2DP technology with a user friendly interface," said Mike Bailey, PEIKER acustic chief operating officer. "Mobile phones offer consumers more multi-media functionality and this system allows consumers to take the music from their handset and play it through the car audio system."

Officials from PEIKER acustic, which pioneered vehicle hands-free Bluetooth technology in Europe five years ago, say the unit, which allows users to match display colors to various car interiors, requires professional installation, and will be distributed initially only through professional aftermarket channels.

BluetouchMusic is the first automotive aftermarket major product offering to the U.S. market from PEIKER acustic and was developed in cooperation with ALAC GmbH.
