Timken President Elected New SAE International VP of Automotive - Auto News from January 02, 2007

WARRENDALE, Pa., Jan. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Jacqueline A. "Jacqui" Dedo is the new Vice President of Automotive for SAE International. The elected position is a three-year term and Dedo will be replacing Richard Schaum, who will serve as the 2007 SAE International President.

Dedo, who is also President of the Automotive Group of The Timken Company, will be responsible for providing leadership and continuity for SAE International's automotive initiative and for integrating the needs of automotive vehicles across SAE International's programs for standards, events, and educational programs. After joining The Timken Company in 2004, Dedo established a global strategy to strengthen Timken's leadership position as a provider of automotive powertrain and friction management solutions. By targeting opportunities among its worldwide customers to drive profitable growth, the Automotive Group is solidifying its role as a valued automotive supplier. Prior to joining Timken, she was corporate vice president at Motorola and served as the general manager of global market operations for Motorola's Automotive Communications and Electronic Systems Group. She was instrumental in transforming this group into a leading global supplier of automotive telematics, which involves the use of telecommunications devices in vehicles, and powertrain and chassis products. Dedo also has worked at the Robert Bosch Corporation, where she served in a variety of leadership positions, including president of the Ford Value Team. In this role, she developed and implemented a strategic business initiative that revitalized Bosch's relationship with the Ford Motor Company.
