First introduced as a mini Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) in 1995, the Kia Sportage was reintroduced in 2005 as a compact crossover SUV. Employing a uni-body platform, the Sportage is available in LX and EX trims. The LX trim is powered by a 140 horsepower 2.0L four-cylinder engine matched with five-speed manual transmission on front-wheel steer. There are options for four-wheel steering on manual transmission models, four-speed automatic transmission, and a 173 horsepower 2.7L V6 engine with automatic transmission on front- or four-wheel steer.
