Debuting in 2007, the Hyundai Veracruz is a mid size crossover sport utility vehicle. The Hyundai Veracruz is sold in the US and Canadian market as well as the home market of Hyundai, which is South Korea. The Hyundai Motor Company officially revealed the Veracruz in October of 2006 in South Korea.

Hyundai has powered the Veracruz with a 3.8 liter V6 engine with a somewhat unique Aisin sourced 6 speed automatic transmission. The five door sport utility vehicle is often compared to luxury brands such as Lexus, and many have suggested that this stylish SUV is simply a market test for a luxury brand offered by the Hyundai Motor Company.
